Playing Rules

All players must adhere to the Laws of the Game (LOTG). The definitive source is the International Football Association Board (The IFAB) and their website is comprehensive.

The MWFA also makes adaptations to suit the range of competitions under its umbrella. The MWFA Playing Rules document lists these.

A break of five minutes is allowed between the halves of all games. In the event of games starting late the referees have the power to shorten the length of the games to ensure they finish on schedule.

Footballs

Each team’s kit bag will contain a match ball and training balls of the appropriate size. The match ball must be taken to every game. The referee will decide which ball is to be used.
